JOB VACANCY:  ASSISTANT PROCUREMENT OFFICER, GRADE C2, PROCUREMENT AND ADMINISTRATION  UNIT

The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) is inviting qualified, competent, self-motivated, and experienced applicants for the following post: –

Assistant Procurement Officer – 1 Post

1.0       Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Procurement Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the following among other duties:

  • Assist in the drafting of specifications for inviting quotations.
  • Assist in conducting routine supplier evaluation and selection processes.
  • Assist in sourcing quotations for maintenance services and procurement of goods as and when need arises, in full compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets (PPDPA) Act and Regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining an approved supplier database on an annual basis.
  • Raise Requisitions and Purchase Orders on-line for approval of any expenditure.
  • Assist in the regular maintenance services for motor vehicles, equipment, and buildings.
  • Assist with receiving, verification, and acknowledgement of goods delivered and handover to the stores or any designated stations at MCAZ.
  • Follow up on payments for suppliers with the Finance unit and send confirmations to suppliers.
  • Conduct monthly physical asset verification in offices and laboratories and report on the status and availability versus the signed inventory record.
  • Conduct all daily activities in a diligent and professional manner, upholding ethical conduct at all times.
  • Issue stationery and provisions.
  • Update stock bin cards.
  • Capture stationery and provisions issues in SAGE system.
  • Stock reconciliation i.e., physical, bin cards and system balances.
  • Keep the keys to the General Stores room in safe custody.

2.0       Requirements

2.1       Must have a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply.

2.2       Possession of a Bachelors degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.

2.3       At least one (1) year post qualification experience in procurement.

2.4       Must have a clean class 4 driver’s license.
