Short Bio
I am a Pharmacist and I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Limpopo (Medunsa Campus) in South Africa.  I currently work for Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BOMRA) as an assessor. My main responsibilities include evaluation of applications for medicine registration to ensure quality, safety and efficacy. I previously worked for the Ministry of Health and Wellness from September 1995 in hospital facilities and Central Medical Stores. I then worked for Drug Regulatory Unit from 2013 to November 2018, still as a regulator until December 2018, when I then joined BOMRA.

Area of research interest
Design of good Pharmaceutical policies and processes to enhance availability of quality, efficacious and safe medicines.

What do you hope to gain from the fellowship?
Perceived benefits include being able to perfect my dossier assessment skills hence produce reports of high quality ensuring approved products in Botswana are of satisfactory quality, safety and efficacy. With my experience I will then further train colleagues hence imparting knowledge and further building evaluation capacity within Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority. When there is capacity to rigorously assess applications, then this improves overall quality of medicines circulating within the country, region and the continent itself. Other benefits I expect include developing research skills in order to conduct studies which will advise development of good Pharmaceutical policies in the country and region at large.
