Dr Misheck Chiware – Authority Chairperson

Medical Doctor (Retired Obstetrician and Gynaecologist).

Dr Chiware is a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBchB) and a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He also holds a certificate in Gyneacological Diagnostic Laparoscopic Surgery from Johns Hopkins Medical School in the USA and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr. Chiware has over 40 years of working experience. He is a Member of the Medical and Dental Professions Council of Zimbabwe, the Preliminary Investigation Committee and Health Professions Council of Zimbabwe. Dr Chiware is also an ordained preacher in the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe.

DuriDr Clemence Duri

Medical Doctor, Public Health Specialist and Entrepreneur

Currently employed at City of Harare Health Department as the Medical Superintendent of Beatrice Infectious Disease Hospital and TB Programme Manager for the metropolitan City of Harare. Aspires to be a true servant leader, results oriented, strategy oriented and Christ driven individual. Led a successful City of Harare 2019 cholera response with minimal mortality when he was the Acting Director of Health Services for the city. Successfully applied TB Reach grant twice which made a difference in the lives of those affected and infected by Tuberculosis


Mr Jefter Kunonga

Mr Kunonga is the Director at Airfreight Clearing Company. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management.

Mr Kunonga is affiliated to and a member of the British Council Management Express, Marketers Association of Zimbabwe and the Customer Service Association of Zimbabwe. He has over 15 years working experience. He is an External Examiner at Zimbabwe Institute of Management since 2012 to date (Community work). He holds an MBA, Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, Diploma in Transport Management and a Diploma in Customs Legislation and Procedures.


 Mrs Ropafadzai Hove

Pharmacist, with a Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Services and Medicines Control from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom as well a post graduate Diploma in Global Health Procurement and Supply Chain Management from the Empower School of Health, India. Mrs R. Hove is a pharmaceutical policy and regulatory expert. She is a speaker and trainer who has held leadership positions at national, regional and international level on Procurement Supply Management (PSM) and pharmaceutical regulation. She is the immediate past Director of Pharmacy Services in the Ministry of Health and Child Care in Zimbabwe. She has served on various advisory bodies at national, regional and international level.

She is a former chairperson of the Pharmacists Council of Zimbabwe and former vice-President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Zimbabwe. She chaired the Pharmaceutical Advisory Committee in the Southern African Development Community which was responsible for steering of the Regional Pharmaceutical Business Plan with main areas of focus being the harmonization of medicines regulation, pooled procurement of medicines and harmonization of national medicines policies among others. At international level, she represented the Southern African Regional Network (SARN) on the PSM Technical Working Group on the WHO-Roll Back Malaria Partnership.

Dr. Christopher P Pasi


Dr. Christopher P Pasi is a specialist consultant Physician practicing internal medicine at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital (formerly Harare Central Hospital) for the past 20 years. He was Director of Clinical Services at the same institution from June 2018 and appointed the Acting Chief Executive Officer in July 2020. He has interest in Tropical Medicine and Respiratory Medicine running clinics at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital and privately. He is past President of the National Physicians Association of Zimbabwe, (NaPAZ), and served on the Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council of Zimbabwe, (MDPCZ) sitting on the Executive Committee, Practice Control Committee and Chairing the Health Committee that advises Council on fitness to practice. He also served on the Registration Committee of the Health Professions Authority representing MDPCZ up to June 2020. He has served as a Board Member of Natpharm, the National Pharmaceutical Company of Zimbabwe from 2013 to 2016.

Dr. Pasi is the Zimbabwe training Director for East Central and Southern Africa College of Physicians Specialist training programme for internal medicine.

He is the current Chairman of the Malaria Case Management Subcommittee for the Ministry of Health and Child Care since 2014 and also participated in the national COVID 19 Case Management Committee to contribute to the treatment guidelines.

Dr. Pasi sits on the Registration Committee of MCAZ and chairs the Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Trials Committee.


Mrs Nancy Samuriwo

Nancy Samuriwo is a registered legal practitioner and current Managing Partner of Samuriwo Attorneys (

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from the University of South Africa, and a Master of Laws degree in Oil, Gas and Mining Law from Nottingham Trent University. She is currently studying for an MSc degree in Climate and Development Law with the University of London.

Mrs Yamurai Zhou

Food Technologist by profession. She holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Africa University and a Bachelor of Honors Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Zimbabwe. Mrs Zhou has more than 15 years working experience in the food regulatory environment both in the private and public sector. She is a current Executive member of the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries Mashonaland Chamber and has chaired and taken part in several Standards Association of Zimbabwe technical committees. Mrs Zhou is also a former member of the Food Standards Advisory Board Secretariat.

Dr Susan L. Mutambu

Dr Mutambu is a full-time Senior Lecturer at Medical Laboratory, AU.

She is a holder of PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Master in Medical Parasitology and Bachelor of Microbiology and HND Applied Biology degrees. Dr. Mutambu has over 20 years working experience. She was awarded the Joseph Alicata Award by University of Hawaii at Manoa John A Burns School of Medicine for Outstanding student and Dean’s Graduate Award.

Dr Mutambu has published many papers such as ‘Inclusion of edaphic predictors for enhancement of models to determine distribution of soil transmitted helminths’ and ‘Reduction in Malaria Incidence following Indoor Residual Spraying with Actellic 300 CS in a Setting with Pyrethoid Resistance and High Resolution Plasmodium Falciparum Malaria Risk Mapping in Mutasa District, Zimbabwe: Implications for Regaining Control’ e.t.c
