JOB VACANCY:  ASSISTANT FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT, GRADE C4, FINANCE UNIT.

The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) is inviting qualified, honest, self-motivated and experienced applicants for the following post:-

Position – 1 Post

1.0       Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Accountant in the Finance Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for the following among other duties:

  • Assist in the timely preparation of Financial Statements-Historic and Inflated Accounts.
  • Review consumable inventory records prepared by procurement and conduct inventory count and reconcile inventory ledger accounts.
  • Conduct Chemistry laboratory inventory count.
  • Verify reports and reconciliation of the ledger accounts.
  • Prepare, reconcile VAT schedules, and file the return with ZIMRA on time.
  • Perform ledger reconciliations and analyze all Trial Balance nominal ledger accounts to ensure that all accounts are reconciled and cleared timeously.
  • Prepare and process all exchange control clearance and bill of entry acquittals.
  • Troubleshoot ERP transactions to ensure no double entry.
  • Maintain up to date audit files and provide supporting audit evidence to Auditors.
  • Process, record accounting transactions and post journal entries in the ERP system.
  • Prepare payroll schedules and salaries reconciliations.
  • Prepare staff loans schedules and reconcile staff receivables.
  • Prepare process tracking report-payments to meet set timelines.
  • Prepare Purchase Accrual reconciliation and follow up with procurement on all outstanding Goods Received Vouchers.
  • Process bank reconciliations.

2.0       Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor`s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years hands-on experience in Accounting.
  • Professional Qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIS, CTA) is an added advantage.
  • Good communication skills and time management skills is a requisite.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • IFRS knowledge, Report writing, Microsoft forms.
